Dude, you’re smoking. That’s not cool.

Just a friendly advice to the smokers and non-smokers there. We all know that cigarette smoking is dangerous to our health, but that warning on every cigarette pack doesn’t stop some of us— no, actually most of us, from smoking. What I can do, if not to make you stop is, just give you saftety measures and informations that can and will help you.

Smokers, did you know that tobacco companies prefer that you remain ignorant of all the other health problem cause by cigarette smoking? Yes, it causes lung cancer, but that doesn’t stop there. It can cause blindness and it can double the risk of having genital cancer. Wait, I’m not done yet.

Besides cancer of the head, neck, and lungs, cigarettes are connected to cancers of the bladder, pancreas and cervix. Recent research even shows that even Leukemia and colorectal cancer is on the list. Studies also shows that a doubling of risk among smokers for cancers of the vulva and penis as well as an eight-fold risks of an anal cancer for men and nine-fold for women.

Smoking trashes the ability of blood to flow, which results in sixteen-fold greater risk of peripheral vascular diseases. This triggers the pain in the legs and arms, which often lead to an inability to walk and in some instances amputation. 76% of all cases are caused by smoking, more than for any other factor including diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure.

You’d probably be dizzy by reading all the medical stuffs in the above paragraph so I will just enumerate it’s other effects:

  1.  The American Council tells us  that Smoker in their 40’s have facial wrinkles similar to those of nonsmokers in their 60’s.
  2.  Smokers requires anaesthesia for surgery and they recover much slowly, in fact wounds of all kinds take longer to heal for smokers.
  3.  Puffing helps to weaken the bones, soft tissue and all spinal discs, causing all kinds of muscoloskeletal pain and more broken bones and ruptured discs.
  4. Smoking is heavily related to osteoporosis.
  5. Smoking affects your ability to have kids. The fertility rates of women who smoke are about 30% lower to non-smokers.

The lists go on, but you can google it yourself IF you’re interested enough. All in all, smoking does give some of us a relief, but are we willing to trade those temporary relief to those numerous health-risks? You decide.
